Everard’s were founded in 1889 by Frederick T. Everard who was a builder of Thames sailing barges with a works at Greenhithe. the Everard company had a tradition of naming its ships with the name ending in ‘ity’ and usually, the name beginning with an A although s and c were also used. Many of the fleet sported yellow hulls and were known as the ‘Yellow perils’.
The 1,577grt Sanguity was built in 1956 by Grangemouth Dockyard. In 1978 she was sold to Lisca Shipping of Panama and renamed Ramona. On 24th December 1994 she arrived at Bruges to be broken up by J. Bakker & Son.
The 582grt Commodity was built in 1975 by J. W. Cook at Wivenhoe. After a brief period as Lina F in 2005 and as Sea Doll in 2006 she was sold to Gerant Global Management & Trading in 2007 and renamed Safe M. On 14th December 2008 she sank at Marsa el Brega anchorage, Libya while on a voyage from Larissa to Sfax with a cargo of sand.
The 461grt Capacity was built in 1963 by Pollocks at Faversham. She was broken up at Queenborough in May 1981.
The 698grt Actuality was built in 1966 by Clelands at Wallsend. In 1982 she was sold to Allsworth Shipping and renamed Hughina, and in 1983 she joined Carisbrooke Shipping as Greta C. In 1988 she was sold to Runwave Ltd. and renamed Devonia, and in 1991 she moved to Echo Shipping of Honduras as Echo I. In 1994 she was sold to Joel Shipping of Belize as Joel I, and in 1988 she became Beatriz I of Rafael Gonzales. She was deleted from the register in 1999.
