Recife is the centre of administration for the Brazilian state of Pernambuco. The port handles an average of 2.2 million tonnes of cargo annually, the main commodities being sugar, wheat, corn, barley, malt, fertilizers, clinker and kelp. It is also becoming increasingly popular with cruise ships. Here we see four vessels in port in March 2014.
