While at the XIII International Investment Forum in Sochi in September MSC signed an agreement with the Kaliningrad regional authorities to build an international marine terminal to receive cruise and cargo ships at the Baltic port of Pionersky in Kaliningrad, a Russian enclave located between Poland and Lithuania and geographically isolated from the rest of Russia.
The authorities expect to commence work in 2015 with the total volume of investment reaching upwards of $240 million including the construction of engineering networks, communications, and roads.
