Just days after her £28m refit and renaming a fire broke out in the funnel of the 52,926gt/1991 built Costa neoClassica whilst on the Red Sea bound for Aqaba on 23rd December. The fire was quickly extinguished by ship personnel.
The Costa neoClassica had only emerged from a €22.5m complete redesign on 18th December when she set out from Savona to the Indian Ocean. The ship’s renovation took place at the San Giorgio del Porto yard in Genoa, a process that began on 8th November.
As with the other Costa neoCollection ships, the Costa neoClassica includes a professional Concierge who will advise guests on the best services and activities while onboard and ashore. Passengers can also find information about all available excursions through ‘totems’ onboard, self-service touch screen portals that allow them to browse activities available at their leisure. The same portals were recently introduced on the new flagship, the Costa Diadema.
