Jacob Stolt-Nielsen, the founder of Norwegian chemical tanker giant Stolt- Nielsen, died at his home in Oslo on 15th February aged 83. Mr Stolt-Nielsen is survived by his wife, Nadia, two daughters, two sons and 13 grandchildren and served as Stolt-Nielsen’s chairman from 1959, when he founded the company, until 2009. He remained as a director until his retirement in December 2014, after which he continued as honorary chairman. Stolt-Nielsen operated around 151 tankers totalling 2.5 million dwt as of 1st June 2014 and generated $2.1 billion in revenue last year.
