Celebrity Cruises announced in early October that upgrades will be bestowed upon the 90,940gt/2001 built Celebrity infinity and Celebrity Summit.

The Celebrity infinity received a new rooftop Terrace venue during a scheduled dry dock 15th-29th October plus significant renovations to the ships’ Penthouse and royal Suites plus the conversion of the specialty restaurant to one of Celebrity’s signature venues, Tuscan grille. The Celebrity Summit will follow with a similar scheduled dry dock in March 2016.

The $16 million refit work will sadly see the loss of the SS United States and Normandie restaurants on each vessel respectively in favour of the aforementioned Tuscan grille. additional work taking place onboard both ships includes the addition of an enclosed portrait studio similar to that found on Celebrity’s Solstice Class ships ‘Eclipse and ‘Equinox, the creation of a new future cruise sales office, a refresh of the Solarium, with new furniture, new floors, and refinished pool tops, and a refresh of finishes in the spa café plus the removal of the themed décor in the ship’s casino.

The Celebrity infinity will dry dock from 27th February to 12th March 2016 with both dry dockings taking place at Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport, Bahamas.
