With the use of more very rare film, 90% of which has never been made public before, it has taken Snowbow over a year to produce this new 60 minute DVD.

The programme, which is made to TV Broadcast standards, starts with an in-depth look at a cargo liner being built and launched at Harland and Wolff’s Belfast Yards in the 1950s.

Then we set sail from London’s Royal Docks on a voyage around the world aboard Port Line’s magnificent Port Auckland, sailing through both calm and often very stormy seas, to some of the most beautiful ports on earth, giving us a rare opportunity to see just what it lwasike to have served at sea when we had the biggest and best Merchant Navy in the world.

After this the programme takes us back in time again to Dover during the days of P&O/Stena Line, where, with the use of more rare film we take a good look at their operation including sailing aboard many of their great ferries.

Finally we’re taken over to America to board what surely was one of the most handsome ocean liners ever built, the beautiful Sagafjord.
