The Tyne on 21st May 2016. On the left is the 31,356gt DFDS ferry Princess Seaways. She was built in 1986 by Seebeckwerft at Bremerhaven as the Peter Pan for TT Line. In 1993 they moved her to Australia and renamed her Spirit of Tasmania. In 2002 she was briefly named Spir for her voyage back to the Northern Hemisphere where she joined Nordsjoferger as Fjord Norway. She moved to DFDS in 2006, initially as Princess of Norway, before becoming Princess Seaways in 2011. She operates the Tyne to Ijmuiden service.

On her right is the 33,933gt cruise ship Thomson Celebration which was built in 1984 by Chantiers de l’Atlantique at St. Nazaire as the Noordam for Holland America Line. She joined Thomson in 2004.

Behind her is the 58,767gt car carrier Höegh Amsterdam which was built in 2013 by Hyundai Mipo at Ulsan.
