Port Line was a passenger and cargo shipping company, initially formed as the Commonwealth and Dominion Line in 1914, and in operation until 1982. Commonwealth and Dominion officially re-branded itself ‘Port Line Limited’ on 18th November 1937.

The 16,275grt Port Chalmers, seen here at Sheerness in 1975, was built in 1968 by Alexander Stephen at Linthouse. in 1982 she was transferred to sister company Brocklebanks and renamed Manaar, and in 1983 she was sold to Mint Crown Shipping of Piraeus and renamed golden glory. She was broken up at Shanghai where she arrived on 13th June 1985 after a relatively short career.

The 9,044grt Port Alfred was built in 1961 by Harland & Wolff at Belfast. in 1978 she was moved to Brocklebanks as Masirah, and in 1982 she was sold to Orpheus Ltd. of Gibraltar and renamed Masir. on 24th July 1986 she arrived at Siracha to be broken up by Thai Viroj Co.
