Safmarine were formed in 1946 by South African industrialists and American ship owners. The line is represented in more than 130 countries throughout the world, with more than 1,200 sailors selling their services. Safmarine has been headquartered and registered in Antwerp, Belgium, since 1996, when it completed its acquisition of the Belgian container line, CMBT, which in turn had been an outgrowth of CMB. In 1999, Safmarine was bought by the Danish company A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, and Maersk chose to retain the Safmarine brand rather than integrating it wholly into Maersk Sealand. The 6,331grt S. A. Zebediela in leaving Southampton. She was built in 1968 by Verolme at Heusden. In 1977 she moved to Universal Bulk Carriers Ltd. and was renamed Zebediela. In 1979 she became Meltem Universal of Meltem Reefers and in 1982 she was renamed Al Mareekh after her sale to Abdullah Abbar & Ahmed Zainy Cold Stores. In 1972 she briefly sailed as Concordia Land and in 1974 she became S.A. Tugelaland of Safmarine. In 1978 she was sold to China Ocean Shipping as Lu Cheng and in 1993 she was renamed Dong Ru after moving to Shanghai Dong Ping Shipping. She was deleted from the register in 2011. PhotoTransport.com

Krugerland in 1974. In 1978 she was sold to Gaven Maritime Enterprises and renamed Rini and in 1982 she joined Dalia Shipping as Saria.
