The 23,754grt Independence was built in 1950 by the Bethlehem Shipyard Corporation at Quincy. She joined C.Y Tung in 1974 and then in 1982 joined his Hawaiian Cruises as Independence. In 2006 she was renamed Oceanic and in 2009. She was renamed Platinum II for her final voyage to Alang. She ran agound there in February 2010 and was broken up in situ.
