The 22,496gt/1998 built former Peter Deilmann flagship Deutschland remains without a buyer at the time of writing when a rumoured sale of the ship appeared to fall through. Whether or not this was the muted sale to Crystal Cruises is unclear.

However, this fine ship had her 2014 refit cancelled and is now at anchor off Gibraltar with a skeleton crew awaiting the next chapter in her life. The administrator, Reinhold Schmid-Spreber, is in charge of the sales negotiations and says that talks with potential investors for the ship will continue.
