The Dieppe Seaways stood down from Dover-Calais on 29th November, sailed to Dunkirk and was handed over to owners Stena Line on 3rd December prior to heading for a facelift in Gdynia, Poland on 7th December. On 8th December Stena Line confirmed that the ship will become the Stena Superfast X at Holyhead, replacing the Stena Nordica on the Dublin service.

The Stena Superfast X is a sister ship of the award winning Stena Superfast VII and VIII ships which the company currently operates on the Irish Sea. She has capacity for up to 1,200 passengers and provides almost 2 km of vehicle space to accommodate a mix of car and freight traffic.

In the last 5 years alone Stena Line has invested over £250m across its Irish Sea operations and the former Seafrance vessel will have a range of facilities installed that include dedicated passenger and freight driver lounges, Barista Coffee House, Met Bar and Grill, a retail shopping outlet plus the award winning signature premium lounge, Stena Plus.
