On 5th November the completion of the MSC Lirica marked the end of the Renaissance transformation applied to the (65,542gt/2001 built) MSC Armonia, MSC Sinfonia (65,542gt/2002 built), MSC Opera (above, 65,591gt/2004 built) & MSC Lirica (65,591gt/2003 built).
The project made the ships more family friendly as well as lengthening each vessel by 24m. Overall, 800 staterooms were added to the quartet of ships in the €200m programme. The Lirica will be deployed to China (Shanghai), the MSC Opera will be in Cuba (Havana), the MSC Armonia will be based in Genoa whilst the MSC Sinfonia already homeports in Durban, South Africa.
