Colón 2000 is making a second attempt at a ferry linking Cartagena, Colombia and Isla Colón in Bocas del Toro.

Ferry Xpress is employing the ship that started life on the Harwich-Hoek van Holland service as the 32,189gt/1986 built Koningin Beatrix before becoming the Stena Baltica in 2002 after a stint on Fishguard-Rosslare and then the SNAV Adriatico in 2013 to serve Ancona and Split.

The ship entered service from Colón 2000 to Cartagena on 24th October 2014 and will depart on Mondays and Wednesdays from Colón 2000 and from Panamá on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The crossing takes around 18 hours each way. The Adriatico will also sail to Isla Colón in Bocas del Toro every Friday from Colón 2000, returning on a Sunday.

It is perhaps unlikely that this fine ship will ever return to European Waters.
