Denmark’s short-sea shipping operator DFDS Logistics has set up a new route from Northern Germany to Norway, with the first sailing departing on 29th December. The new route is Oslo-Halden-Bremerhaven- Hamburg-Oslo. The vessel on the new route will be the 7,409gt/1998 built Lysvik Seaways, a multipurpose vessel with both container and side loading cargo capacity.

On 1st January Shipdock Amsterdam and Shipdock Harlingen changed names to Damen Shiprepair Amsterdam (DSA) and Damen Shiprepair Harlingen (DSH) respectively. During the last two years, both yards have successfully integrated into Damen Shiprepair & Conversion (DSC), itself part of the Damen Shipyards Group.

The RoRo/container ship Nero, former Jolly Nero, was beached for scrapping at the beginning of January 2015. The 40,594gt/1976 built ship operated for Linea Messina and made headlines in 2012 when she collided with the port control tower at Genoa.
