Celtic Tugs, a Cork shipping company and subsidiary of Irish Mainport Holdings, has purchased a new Tug which arrived into Ringaskiddy deepwater Berth in the Port of Cork on 31st March. Previously named the Efesan Port, the 195gt/2015 built tug acquired from Turkey is being renamed the Celtic Fergus.
GasLog, an ING carrier owner, has taken delivery of the first of its g-Class newbuildings that expands its operation for energy company Royal Dutch Shell. The 112,764gt and 174,000 m3 capacity Gaslog Greece was delivered by Samsung Heavy industries in South Korea and immediately began a 10- year charter with a Shell subsidiary.
Gener8 Maritime, a Crude oil shipping company, took delivery of the 160,449gt “Eco” VLCC the gener8 Success from Chinese shipbuilder Shanghai Waigoqiao Shipbuilding Co. at the end of March.
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) of Japan is reducing its Capesize fleet by about 10% by cancelling some charter-in contracts and selling some owned dry bulkers as part of drastic restructuring plans announced in February. By restructuring its dry bulker and containership businesses, Mol aims to develop a business structure that generates stable profit.
Navig8 Product Tankers, a joint venture between the Navig8 group and DVB Bank, has entered into sale and leaseback agreements with CMB Financial leasing for two 74,000 dwt lR1 product tankers being built at Korean shipbuilder SPP Shipbuilding.

Svitzer, the global towage operator, has signed a contract with the Damen Song Cam Shipyard in Vietnam for four ATD 2412 tugs as part of Svitzer’s ongoing fleet renewal programme.
