The 51,770gt/2000 built Hoegh Osaka departed Falmouth for Gibraltar after repairs on 20th February 2015 before returning to full employment for Hoegh Autoliners. The ship had bid farewell to Southampton on 10th February.
Meanwhile the repaired 72,408gt/2011 built G. Poseidon left Southampton for Bremerhaven on 21st February.
Damaged during the Hoegh Osaka salvage effort, Solent Towage’s Lomax spent a considerable time alongside at Southampton’s Western Docks undergoing repairs to her mast and was noted as still there in early March.

The historic tug/tender Daniel Adamson has been awarded £3.8 million by the Heritage Lottery Fund to restore and open to the public the last-surviving Steam Tug- Tender in the UK. Coming over 30 years after the vessel was taken out of service and 11 years since she was saved from the scrapyard by local campaigners, the Heritage Lottery Fund’s investment will help restore the Daniel Adamson to full working order so that she can once again carry passengers across the North West’s famous waters.
Currently moored at Liverpool’s Albert Docks and in urgent need of repair, the Daniel Adamson will now be towed to a dry dock, allowing work to begin on a repair and restoration programme, set to be completed during 2015 and entering service in spring 2016.
It is a great shame that a similar lifeline has not been thrown to Southampton’s last surviving tug/tender Calshot.
