The former Company tug/tender Calshot (pictured) which has been under restoration at Southampton is reported to be at risk of demolition following an MCA Survey that she failed. This resulted in an immediate ban of more than three persons being aboard her at any one time. The Calshot was built in 1929 by John I Thornycroft & Co., and completed in 1930 for Red Funnel whom she served until 1964. The Calshot is one of only three surviving classic tender ships which served the great ocean liners, the others being the SS Nomadic and the Daniel Adamson.
