On 12th December the 23,149gt/1971 built and Panamanian-flagged redundant cruise ship Ocean Star Pacific ran aground in the area of General Santos City off the Philippine island of Mindanao.

The ship, manned by 21 Indian seafarers, was due for ship breaking in Vahavnagar, India and was supposedly bound for Singapore from Mexico when she ran out of fuel. The ship was refloated eventually with preparations made to get the ship on her way.

The ship was owned by PV Enterprises International and experienced two fires in 2011 hence her destiny to be scrapped.
