The historic Isle of Man shipping operator Ramsey Steamship Company (RSC) has sold its two vessels, the 548gt/1979 built Ben Maye and the 997gt/1986 built Ben Varrey to Kent-based ship owner Angel Shipping Ltd. The ships will be operated and managed by a wholly-owned subsidiary of Angel, Absolute Shipping Ltd.

In July 2013 RSC announced it would be wound-up after 100 years because of a £1 million pensions liability. However, there is a role in the new venture for current Managing Director of the RSC, who will join the company’s management team. Delivery of the re-liveried vessels took place in Ramsey on 27th November so the operation can live on, albeit in a new guise.
