Aberdeen Harbour welcomed one of the largest ships to have docked in the city in October. The 19,128gt/2009 built and 160m long Pacific Adventure (above) surpasses the previous record holder, the 18,640gt/ 2009 built diving support vessel Skandi Arctic. The Pacific Adventure is operated by Hartmann Project Lines vessel under the agency of Euroline Shipping and arrived with a cargo of oilfield materials.

Meanwhile the deadline for interested parties concerning the sale of Perth Harbour came on 24th November. The harbour, which has 4 main berths, provides a lower cost alternative to larger coastal ports and is situated on the River Tay 30 miles from the North Sea and at the centre of Scotland’s road transport network. It currently operates 24 hours a day handling coastal and dry bulk ships up to 90 metres in length and 2,500gt.
Any decision ultimately made by the Council to transfer ownership will not affect businesses occupying land on a freehold or long leasehold basis. The Council is expected to make a decision on whether to progress to the next stage of the process in February 2015.
